Baseball Game Preview: La Crosse Central Riverhawks vs. Sparta Spartans

La Crosse Central is on a five-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Sparta a ten-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The La Crosse Central Riverhawks will be playing at home against the Sparta Spartans at 5:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Friday, La Crosse Central came up short against Stevens Point and fell 4-1.

La Crosse Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jude Alvarado, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Sparta fell victim to Reedsburg and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Beavers, falling 11-0.

Sparta's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for La Crosse Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

La Crosse Central was able to grind out a solid win over Sparta when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 5-1. Do the Riverhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
