Glendale came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Carl Hayden Community Falcons as they made off with a 21-11 win. This was payback for the Cardinals, who suffered a 23-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Janessa Gabaldon Lucero made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits. Gabaldon Lucero was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her six plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Unique Medina, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Reeanah Sesma was another key player, getting on base in three of her six plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The victory got Glendale back to even at 7-7. As for Carl Hayden Community, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
