Softball Game Preview: West Valley Rams vs. Moses Lake Mavericks

West Valley is 2-8 against Moses Lake since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Rams will welcome the Mavericks at 4:00 p.m. West Valley is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

West Valley gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Eisenhower 15-6. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by nine runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 17 runs the game before, Moses Lake was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They fell just short of Hanford by a score of 2-1.

Paige Richardson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Moses Lake saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amelia Avalos, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

West Valley's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Moses Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.
