Recap: Hackleburg Panthers vs. Marion County Red Raiders

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Hackleburg Panthers can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Red Raiders on the road and fell 73-35. While losing is never fun, Hackleburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 404th, while Marion County is ranked 113th).

It was another big night for Tye Madison, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 34 points and 1 assist for Marion County. Madison hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Vondrell Swanigan, who scored ten points.

Hackleburg has not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Marion County, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-8.

Hackleburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marion County, they will face off against Covenant Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Covenant Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
