Cane Bay piles up the points against Hanahan

Recap: Cane Bay Cobras vs. Hanahan Hawks

The Cane Bay Cobras took care of business in their home opener on Monday (and then some). They really took it to Hanahan for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-31 victory at home. That's another feather in the cap for Cane Bay, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Cane Bay had a senior duo take command as Curtrell Dixon scored 12 points along with 4 steals and Landon Davis scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Amare Merrell, who scored 7 points along with 3 steals.

When it comes to explaining why Hanahan lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jonah Auckenthaler. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 19 points and 10 rebounds.

Cane Bay's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Hanahan, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Cane Bay will head out on the road to face off against Timberland at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hanahan, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Charleston Math & Science at 6:00 p.m.
