Basketball Recap: Mclean Now 11-1 over Last 12 Games

McLean proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 27) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-47 win over the Clarendon Broncos. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since February 6, 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McLean to victory, but perhaps none more so than Collin Alston, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. The game was Alston's 14th in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayvon Salazar, who went 8-for-12 en route to 16 points and five boards.

McLean is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points over those games. As for Clarendon, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-14.

McLean has already played their next contest, a 69-56 win against Fort Elliott on the 18th. As for Clarendon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 68-34 loss against Gruver on the 17th.
