Softball Recap: Wildwood Catholic Has No Trouble Against Lower Cape May

Wildwood Catholic won the last time they faced Lower Cape May and things went their way on Thursday too. The Crusaders put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 22-11 win. Considering the Crusaders have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Julia Wallace was a standout: she got on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Cara Millard was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Wildwood Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Lower Cape May, they dropped their record down to 4-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wildwood Catholic will venture away from home to square off against Bridgeton at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lower Cape May, they will take on Buena at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
