Basketball Recap: Waterford Falls Despite Big Games from Elijah Thornberry and Matthew Martinez

Waterford lost against Mariposa County back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The matchup between the Waterford Wildcats and the Mariposa County Grizzlies didn't end well, with the Waterford Wildcats falling 58-41. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Waterford's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Matthew Martinez, who posted nine points, and Elijah Thornberry, who had nine points.

Waterford's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Mariposa County, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-12.

Waterford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-49 loss against Delhi on the 31st. As for Mariposa County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 68-48 defeat against Stone Ridge Christian on the 31st.
