Basketball Game Preview: Jacksonville Fightin' Indians vs. Whitehouse Wildcats

The Jacksonville Fightin' Indians will face off against the Whitehouse Wildcats at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Whitehouse is hoping to do what Lufkin couldn't on Tuesday: put an end to Jacksonville's winning streak, which now stands at five games. Jacksonville put the hurt on Lufkin with a sharp 62-36 win. Given the Fightin' Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Panthers are ranked 380th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Whitehouse humbled Marshall with a 62-18 victory. That 44 point margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.

Jacksonville's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Whitehouse, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Jacksonville came out on top in a nail-biter against Whitehouse when the teams last played back in November of 2024, sneaking past 44-41. Will Jacksonville repeat their success, or does Whitehouse have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
