Recap: Lawrence Tigers vs. Howardsville Christian Eagles
It was a good run, but the Lawrence Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They received a tough blow as they fell 63-45 to Howardsville Christian. While losing is never fun, Lawrence can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 668th, while the Eagles are ranked 327th).
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alex Gardner, who scored 12 points along with three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gardner has scored all season. Ben McCaw was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Lawrence's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Howardsville Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4.
Lawrence won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Colts at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Comstock has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 9. As for Howardsville Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against the Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
