Softball Recap: Mount View Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

While Mount View's victory against Montcalm wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Golden Knights narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Generals 11-9. The Golden Knights haven't had any issues with the Generals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Shiann Carter was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Shianne Belcher, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Mount View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Mount View pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.4 runs. As for Montcalm, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount View will take on Greater Beckley Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Crusaders will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Golden Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Montcalm, they will face off against Bluefield at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
