Baseball Game Preview: PikeView Panthers vs. Herbert Hoover Huskies

The PikeView Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Herbert Hoover Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The last four games PikeView has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

PikeView fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Nicholas County on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Grizzlies by a score of 6-5.

Meanwhile, Herbert Hoover faced Winfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Huskies took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Generals.

Herbert Hoover saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Grigsby, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base. Jayden Ledsome also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

PikeView's record now sits at 19-5. As for Herbert Hoover, their record is now 12-8.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. PikeView has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game.
