Basketball Recap: Coby Sims' Big Game Can't Quite Lead White over Canyon

White saw some tournament action on Monday. They took a 64-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Canyon Eagles. The contest marked the Longhorns' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Several Longhorns players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Coby Sims, who shot 83% from the field to rack up 12 points and five rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Sims now owns an excellent 50% field goal percentage. Joshua Jimison was another key player, putting up 21 points.

White's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Canyon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

White has already played their next game, a 62-38 victory against Caprock on the 25th. As for Canyon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-58 win against Krum on the 25th.
