Baseball Recap: Roman Catholic Find Success

Roman Catholic's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Friends' Central, sneaking past 10-9. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cahillite needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Roman Catholic let Luis Selles and Alex Cockerill run wild. Selles got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one double, while Cockerill went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs Selles has posted since back in March. Nick Migatz was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Roman Catholic's win bumped their record up to 3-12. As for Friends' Central, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roman Catholic will host Father Judge at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for the Cahillite: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while the Crusaders have snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. As for Friends' Central, they will welcome Lansdale Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
