Softball Recap: Waterloo West Drops Highest Score of Season Against Jefferson

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Waterloo West). They had just enough and edged out the Jefferson Hawks 14-13 on Tuesday. This was payback for the Wahawks, who suffered a 5-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The win made it two in a row for Waterloo West and bumps their season record up to 4-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Jefferson, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Hawks beat Waterloo West by a score of 8-0 later that day.
