Basketball Recap: Logansport Berries vs. Hamilton Heights Huskies
After flying high against Pioneer last Friday, Logansport came back down to earth. The Logansport Berries were beaten by the Hamilton Heights Huskies 88-50 on Friday. The Berries were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-19.
Several Berries players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was RJ Clem, who went 7 for 10 on his way to 14 points. Clem is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Baldwin, who posted six points and seven boards.
It was another big night for Gavin Saunders, who went 12 of 20 from beyond the arc on his way to 44 points and six rebounds for Hamilton Heights. With that strong performance, Saunders is now averaging an impressive 19.8 points per game. Dreydin Serna was another key player, putting up four points and eight rebounds.
Logansport's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Hamilton Heights, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Logansport wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 64-58 defeat against Rochester on the 14th. As for Hamilton Heights, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 48-41 win against Muncie Central on the 14th.
