Preview: Boswell Scorpions vs. Clayton Bulldogs
The Boswell Scorpions will head out on the road to face off against the Clayton Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Thursday, Boswell was the victim of a tough 63-37 loss at the hands of Rattan. While losing is never fun, Boswell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while Rattan is ranked fourth).
Meanwhile, Clayton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 57-52 to Panama.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Shelton Lewis, who scored 16 points. The matchup was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Clemons, who scored 15 points.
Calera's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Boswell's loss dropped theirs to 4-2.
Boswell beat Clayton 78-65 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Boswell since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
