Basketball Recap: Oak Mountain Academy Comes Up Short

Oak Mountain Academy was the 47-39 winner over St. George when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Oak Mountain Academy Warriors were dealt a 57-27 defeat at the hands of St. George's on Monday. The contest marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Oak Mountain Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leonardo Massi, who posted seven points.

Oak Mountain Academy dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for St. George's, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oak Mountain Academy will take on Flint River Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for St. George's, they will face off against Piedmont Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
