Baseball Recap: Botkins Comes Up Short

Botkins made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Anna, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Trojans fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 3-1 on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Rockets: they've now lost nine in a row.

Botkins saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Schuller, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Botkins' loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Anna, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Botkins will host Cory-Rawson at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Anna, they will welcome Lima Central Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Thunderbirds have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
