It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Coldwater ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Vicksburg Bulldogs, sneaking past 5-4. While the Cardinals didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-22), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The win made it two in a row for Coldwater and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Vicksburg, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Coldwater beat the Bulldogs by a score of 9-4 later that day.
