Softball Recap: Wes-Del Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Wes-Del dropped their record down to 10-5 on Saturday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins at home. They lost 12-0 to the Yorktown Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Warriors have suffered since April 12th.

As for Yorktown, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Considering they have won seven games by more than eight runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

For Yorktown's part, they let Abbey Booher and Ava Aul run wild. Booher went 1-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Aul went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That's the most RBI Booher has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Hazen, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Wes-Del has already played their next matchup, a 12-11 win against Centerville on the 12th. As for Yorktown, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-1 victory against Daleville on the 10th.
