Softball Preview: Isabella Mustangs vs. Jemison Panthers
Isabella hasn't had much luck against Jemison recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Mustangs will be playing at home against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Isabella is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Isabella turned things around against Dallas County on Wednesday. They blew past the Hornets 20-6.
Isabella got a massive performance out of Aubreigh Davenport, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. Jeslyn Wilson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Isabella always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February.
Meanwhile, Jemison was able to grind out a solid victory over Montevallo on Thursday, taking the game 5-1. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Jemison's victory bumped their record up to 7-8-1. As for Isabella, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
