Softball Recap: Edwards County Has No Trouble Against Chester

After low-scoring totals in their previous three matchup, Edwards County brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. Everything went their way against the Chester Yellowjackets on Saturday as they made off with an 11-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Lily Jones was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Braelyn Troyer was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Edwards County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Edwards County moved to 17-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Chester, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-8.

Looking ahead, Edwards County will venture away from home to face off against Harrisburg at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chester has already played their next matchup (against Valmeyer), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
