Basketball Recap: Green Canyon Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Green Canyon had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 74-54 to the Hurricane Tigers on Thursday. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Hurricane's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Clyde Berrett, who went 7-for-11 en route to 18 points. Another player making a difference was Asher Blair, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 19 points.

Coming up, Green Canyon won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Summit Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hurricane, they will square off against Canyon View at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
