Softball Game Preview: Okawville Rockets vs. Collinsville Kahoks

The Okawville Rockets are taking a road trip to take on the Collinsville Kahoks at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Okawville barely beat Carlyle the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rockets put the hurt on the Indians/Lady Indians with a sharp 12-2 win on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rockets.

Meanwhile, Collinsville won against Alton on Thursday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Kahoks beat Breese Central by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-7. The victory was familiar territory for the Kahoks, who have now won three contests in a row.

Bailey Demick was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Shemwell, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

The win got Okawville back to even at 3-3. As for Collinsville, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Okawville came up short against Collinsville in their previous matchup back in April of 2017, falling 11-6. Can the Rockets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
