Volleyball Recap: Harding Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Jana Vale and Brooklyn Butchino

Harding was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Andrews Osborne Academy Phoenix. The Skippers were not able to make up for their loss to the Phoenix from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-14, 25-18.

Harding's loss came despite strong showings from Brooklyn Butchino and Jana Vale. Butchino had 16 digs and two aces, while Vale had 14 digs and six kills. Butchino has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lennon Abate, who had 13 digs.

Harding's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Andrews Osborne Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 16-5.

Coming up, Harding will take on Kirtland in a tournament on Thursday. As for Andrews Osborne Academy, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Mentor Christian on the 10th.
