Kennedy took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Walton, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Knights had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 6-5 on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won three contests in a row.

Kennedy pushed their record up to 7-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Walton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Kennedy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Walton, they have already played their next game, an 11-5 loss against Manhattan Center for Science & Math on the 17th.
