Volleyball Recap: Amanda-Clearcreek Comes Up Short

Amanda-Clearcreek was the 3-0 winner over Fairfield Union when they last played one another on September 2nd, but their luck changed this time around. The Aces fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 3-2 on Thursday.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Amanda-Clearcreek sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 22-25, 26-24, 19-25, 19-17.

Fairfield Union was led to victory by Adi Bradford and Isabella Ritchie. Bradford had 25 digs and one assist, while Ritchie had 30 digs, nine kills, four aces, and two blocks. Those 30 digs gave Ritchie a new career-high.

Amanda-Clearcreek's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Fairfield Union, with the victory, they broke their four-match losing streak and moved their record to 4-14.

Amanda-Clearcreek and Fairfield Union could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Aces (ranked 324th) will meet Shekinah Christian (ranked 133rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Fairfield Union will face off against Bloom-Carroll at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (525 vs. 14).
