Ellsworth proved they can win big on Monday (they won by seven) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-11 win over the Altoona Railroaders. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Ava Whipple was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Huppert, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Ellsworth was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in four consecutive games.
Ellsworth's record is now 14-5. As for Altoona, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-8.
Ellsworth will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Railroaders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
