Baseball Game Preview: Southwestern Trojans vs. Salamanca Warriors

For the second straight game, Southwestern will face off against Salamanca. The Trojans will head out to face off against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Southwestern has three straight victories, Salamanca has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Southwestern had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Salamanca on Monday. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Warriors. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by six runs or more this season.

Judd Harris made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Harris was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Oscar Harris was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. He has become a key player for Southwestern: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was George Marshall, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Southwestern was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. The last time their batting average was this high was was before the start of last season.

Salamanca's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Southwestern, the win also got them back to even at 6-6.
