It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but North Augusta had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the South Florence Bruins, sneaking past 2-1. Winning may never get old, but North Augusta sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Katera Garner and Claire Jernigan scored both of North Augusta's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 22 goals.
The win got North Augusta back to even at 9-9-1. As for South Florence, they moved to 14-2 with that loss, which also ended their 14-game winning streak.
Looking ahead, North Augusta is taking a road trip to challenge Hilton Head Island at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Florence does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
