Baseball Game Preview: Germantown Mavericks vs. Madison Central Jaguars

For the second straight game, Germantown will face off against Madison Central. The Mavericks will welcome the Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Germantown is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 17 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Madison Central on Tuesday. They fell 5-2 to the Jaguars.

Germantown got a good showing from Brayden Simpson, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Simpson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Germantown saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Everett, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Madison Central's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Germantown, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-12.
