Basketball Recap: Decatur Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Decatur had won four straight home games and Javen Colbert did his part to make it five on Tuesday. Everything went the Decatur Eagles' way against the Bridgeport Bulls as the Decatur Eagles made off with a 79-57 win thanks to Colbert, who went 10-for-18 from beyond the arc en route to 44 points and four steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Decatur's points.

Another player making a difference was Brayden Shook, who posted three points in addition to five assists and three steals. Those three steals gave him a new career-high.

Decatur has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 26-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.4 points over those games. As for Bridgeport, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-19.

Coming up, Decatur will challenge Eastern Hills at 8:00 p.m. on February 18th. Decatur is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season. Bridgeport does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
