Softball Game Preview: Manchester Central Little Green vs. Nashua South Purple Panthers

For the second straight game, Manchester Central will face off against Nashua South. The Little Green are taking a road trip to square off against the Purple Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Manchester Central is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

On Thursday, Manchester Central came up short against Nashua South and fell 6-3.

For Nashua South's part, Cate Marvin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks. Marvin has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brooke Berger was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nicki Gates, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Manchester Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Nashua South, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-13-1.
