Baseball Recap: Arlington Gets the Win

Arlington proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 13) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Suffern Mounties, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Admirals have posted since April 17th.

Logan Sajdak spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Arlington saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Mackin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double. Those three hits gave Mackin a new career-high. Christian Anderson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

The win got Arlington back to even at 8-8. As for Suffern, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Arlington is taking a road trip to challenge Carmel at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Suffern, they will host New Rochelle at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
