Softball Recap: Saginaw Comes Up Short

Saginaw was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 12-2 to the Azle Hornets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rough Riders of the 13-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Saginaw saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Brown, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. The dominant performance gave Brown a new career-high in RBI. Lilly Hann also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Saginaw's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Azle, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5-2.

Looking ahead, Saginaw will look to defend their home field on Friday against Brewer at 7:00 p.m. As for Azle, they are taking a road trip to square off against Granbury at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
