Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Roosevelt

If Northridge wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Roosevelt, they should've done a better job of containing Nolan Peterson. The Roosevelt Roughriders blew past the Northridge Grizzlies 60-40 on Tuesday thanks in part to Peterson, who went 8 of 12 en route to 19 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Lucero, who posted four points in addition to five assists and five steals. That's the most assists he has posted since back in February of 2024.

Northridge's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryson Mena, who earned four points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Orlando Cano, who put up five points.

The win made it two in a row for Roosevelt and bumps their season record up to 9-8. As for Northridge, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.

Roosevelt will face off against Greeley Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Roosevelt is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.7 points per game this season. As for Northridge, they will venture away from home to challenge Wellington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northridge is facing Wellington at the right time seeing as Wellington is stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
