Timberline is 1-9 against Capital since September of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wolves will square off against the Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Timberline is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Timberline is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Meridian, who was ranked 18th at the time (Timberline was ranked 16th). The Wolves blew past the Warriors 33-7 on Friday. Considering the Wolves have won three contests by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Jack Brant, who rushed for 156 yards and three scores on only 14 carries, and also threw for 90 yards and one TD.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Timberline was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 214 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Meridian only rushed for 32 rushing yards.

Timberline didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Nash Okelley, Hudson Lewis, and Fletch Scudder picked up one apiece. Okelley is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least seven every time he's taken the field this season. Timberline received some extra help from Owen Froehlich, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, Capital was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 55-49 to Rocky Mountain. The Golden Eagles haven't had much luck with the Grizzlies recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Timberline will have to keep a close watch on Brayden Dudley and Quincey Clay, a pair of players who had a big impact on Capital's prior game. Dudley threw for 440 yards and five touchdowns, while Clay gained 201 total yards and four touchdowns. With that strong performance, Clay is now averaging an impressive 110.5 receiving yards per game. A healthy portion of Dudley's aerial production (168 yards to be exact) went to Elliot Schrack, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Timberline's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Capital, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Everything went Timberline's way against Capital in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as Timberline made off with a 21-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
