Basketball Recap: Luther Takes a Loss

After flying high against Viroqua last Tuesday, Luther came back down to earth. The Luther Knights received a blow on Friday as they fell 46-31 to the West Salem Panthers. The Knights have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Luther's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 9-3. As for West Salem, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Luther and West Salem should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. Luther (ranked 72nd) will meet Westby (ranked 303rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, West Salem will challenge Viroqua at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday up 254 places (71 vs. 325).
