Baseball Recap: Bear Creek Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bear Creek can now relate to. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Catholic Raiders on Wednesday. The Bruins have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Tyler Gilbert and Jaxson Bayani did some serious damage despite the final result: Gilbert went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI, while Bayani went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Bayani is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Bear Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 16-13. As for Central Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 19-10.

Bear Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central Catholic, they will challenge Fairfield at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Raiders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
