After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Richard Winn Academy, Laurens Academy was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Wardlaw Academy Patriots with a sharp 13-7 win. The high-scoring effort was just what Laurens Academy needed considering they were shutout in their previous contest.
Elijah Hornberger was incredible, scoring a run and stealing five bases while going 3-for-4. Hack Hardy was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.
On Wardlaw Academy's side, Jackson Smoak made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
