Softball Recap: Chaparral Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Chaparral came tearing into Saturday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.0 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Grandview Wolves. The three-run effort marked the Wolverines' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Chaparral saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Carpenter, who went a perfect 3-for-3 while logging 1 double, 1 RBI, and 1 run.

Chaparral pitchers prevented the big hits and finished the game with no home runs allowed. They have not allowed that few home runs since the 27th, when they also allowed zero home runs.

Chaparral has now won eight of their last 10 games at home. That somehow still isn't as good as their 5-1 record this season. Those home wins came by way of their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Grandview, they dropped their record down to 2-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Chaparral will head out to face off against Palmer Ridge at 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Grandview, they will host Northfield at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
