Baseball Recap: DuQuoin Triumphs

DuQuoin was not the first on the board on Tuesday, but they got there more often. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Frankfort Redbirds, sneaking past 11-9. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Redbirds: they've now won eight in a row.

Luke Bauman and Tilden Henderson did most of the damage at the plate: Bauman went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs, while Henderson went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Bauman has posted since back in March. Cy Craft was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

DuQuoin hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.

DuQuoin's record now sits at 12-10. As for Frankfort, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

DuQuoin wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 6-5 win against Steeleville on the 23rd. As for Frankfort, they have also already played their next match, a 6-4 loss against Zeigler-Royalton on the 23rd.
