Volleyball Recap: Central Triumphs

After losing to Vista the last time they met, Central decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Spartans walked away with a 2-0 win over the Panthers on Friday.

Andrea Mejia paced Central's offense, picking up seven kills. Mejia were helped by Rhyanna Velazco and Maryanne Barrett, who contributed seven assists each. Brianna Aguiar controlled things from the service line, finishing with nine aces.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Vista, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Coincidentally, Central and Vista will both be playing Coastal Academy the next time they take the court. The Spartans will head out to face the Stingrays at 6:40 p.m. on Friday, while the Panthers will play them later in the day, at 8:20 p.m.
