Basketball Game Preview: Mascenic Regional Vikings vs. Mount Royal Academy Knights

The Mascenic Regional Vikings will venture away from home to square off against the Mount Royal Academy Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Wednesday, Mascenic Regional ended up a good deal behind Portsmouth Christian Academy and lost 53-38. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Mount Royal Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They blew past the Panthers 49-24. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Mount Royal Academy pushed their record up to 9-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.8 points over those games. As for Mascenic Regional, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.

Mascenic Regional came up short against Mount Royal Academy in their previous matchup back in January, falling 38-28. Can Mascenic Regional avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
