Basketball Recap: Pine River Area Takes a Loss

Pine River Area lost against McBain two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pine River Area Bucks were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 48-47 to the McBain Ramblers.

Despite the loss, Pine River Area still got an impressive performance from Mason Gugle, who shot 58% from the field on his way to 18 points. What's more, Gugle also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ayden Nichols, who posted nine points and six boards.

Pine River Area's defeat dropped their record down to 19-6. As for McBain, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-2.

Pine River Area does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McBain, they will face off against Beal City on Thursday. Beal City will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something McBain surely won't give up without a fight.
