The Corinth Warriors will head out on the road to take on the South Panola Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Corinth comes in on four and South Panola on 14.
Corinth barely beat West Point the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Green Wave on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.
McKinley Moore made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Spencer Kate Butler, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Addyson Moore was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Corinth was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, South Panola put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's sixth consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Saltillo a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for South Panola, who have now won 19 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Makenzie Houston was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Heafner, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
South Panola pushed their record up to 24-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Corinth, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Corinth hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like South Panola struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Corinth skirted past South Panola 3-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
