The Miami Trace Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Wilmington Hurricane at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Miami Trace is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

Miami Trace came out on top against Vinton County on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run third inning. The Panthers put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 15-3 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Miami Trace got a massive performance out of Evan Colegrove, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Colegrove has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gabe Carson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Miami Trace always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Wilmington's offense. They lost 9-0 to Batavia on Wednesday. The Hurricane have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Miami Trace's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Wilmington, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Wilmington's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Miami Trace has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .457. It's a different story for Wilmington, though, as they've only averaged .247. Will they be able to contain Miami Trace's hitters?

Everything went Miami Trace's way against Wilmington when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Miami Trace made off with a 19-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
