Basketball Recap: Catasauqua Skates Past Palisades with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Catasauqua over Palisades in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Catasauqua Rough Riders blew the Palisades Pirates out of the water with a 73-39 final score. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Rough Riders had established a 30 point advantage.

Lincoln Cook and Blake Oglialoro certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Cook went 6 of 12 on his way to 17 points, while Oglialoro dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

Catasauqua is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.4 points per game. As for Palisades, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Catasauqua will challenge Jim Thorpe at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Palisades, they will square off against Saucon Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
