Baseball Game Preview: Vista Ridge Wolves vs. Pine Creek Eagles

The Vista Ridge Wolves will challenge the Pine Creek Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vista Ridge has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with seven straight defeats, while Pine Creek will come in with three straight victories.

Vista Ridge lost 14-3 to Pueblo West on Tuesday.

Vista Ridge saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Martinez, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Pine Creek never let their opponents score on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Lewis-Palmer 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since May 10, 2025.

The result came thanks to Dane Dial's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kyle McDonnell, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That stolen base was his first of the season.

Pine Creek's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Vista Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Vista Ridge suffered a grim 16-2 defeat to Pine Creek in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
